The present work aimed to analyze the territorial repercussions of the development of Community-Based Tourism (CBT) in Resex Prainha do Canto Verde, a community located in the municipality of Beberibe, coastal Region of Ceará. This initiative is one of the 50 CBT projects supported by Edict No. 001/2008 of the Ministry of Tourism. The analysis undertaken considered some important dimensions to the structuring of the tourism modality discussed here, such as popular participation, the relationship of the community with the inducing agent, the project management model and the socio-spatial conflicts that arise with the development of tourism in the territory. To this end, bibliographic and documentary research was carried out on works produced on the 50 CBT projects supported in 2008, in addition to field research at Prainha in 2020 and semi-structured interviews conducted remotely with representatives of the Cearense Community Tourism Network (TUCUM) throughout 2021. The study helped to understand that the TBC is a way to ensure community participation in the process of construction, operation, management and monitoring of tourism activity in territories that present social and economic vulnerabilities, usually characterized as traditional communities.Downloads
